Finally made it back to Coldwater today. I got there a little later than I intended, at 10:30 a.m. The weather was perfect, not too hot but plenty of sunshine. After loading my gear onto my pontoon boat, including two batteries and a trolling motor, I started out onto the lake. About 45 minutes later I hooked my first fish, a very colorful and fiesty 13 inch rainbow. He jumped three or four times, completely clearing the surface of the lake. One of the hardest fighting trout I've had on in a while! About an hour later I hooked my second fish, a smaller less colorful rainbow but just as fiesty. I fished the rest of the day and only landed one more fish, but lost two that felt like trophies. The only reason I don't rate this day a 5 is because I made the mistake of going all the way to the back end of the lake, and my batteries almost completely conked out on me. Thankfully I had just enough juice to get me back but only because the wind wasn't too bad.

If you fish Coldwater, PLEASE read up on the very restrictive regs on this lake. NO BAIT, and single barbless hooks. Tight lines.
