Fished Lake Washington Wednesday with my son. Launched to Coulon boat ramp and headed to south end of the lake between Boeing plant and Mercer Island. Ran the fish hawk down to the bottom on the downrigger ball to get a read of the temps in the water. Temp range was favorable at about 40ft for trout and kokanee so that's where we started at.
Ran sling blade flashers with wiggle hootchies and a brads 2.5 inch kokanee size cut plug. Nothing for the first 2 hours or so even though lots of fish and bait were showing up on the plotter screen. Switched up to a wedding ring tipped with a worm and a rasticle. That was the ticket. By this time we were at the SW tip of Mercer in the middle of the channel going north. After the lure switch it was game on. Caught 9 nice rainbow, all of them fat and chunky so they are obviously eating well.
Marine layer hung around most of the morning so not much sunshine and it was blowing about 8 kts all day.
Lots of fish in the lake so get out there and catch them. Be safe! -G
