Wanted to fish around the northern part of the lake. Halfway up the lake, decided to pull over to the shaded shoreline and toss the topwater. I think the 5th cast in, see the strike. Waited for the weight and set the hook. Fish on! Feels like a good one. I get it closer and notice it's an ok LMB. It t-boned the lure, so felt bigger than it really is. Looked like it was caught recently. Mouth is a little bit jacked up. 1.5# , maybe 1.75# if i'm feeling generous. Removed my treble with no issues and swam away. Thinking I was onto something, worked the shoreline for about 20 mins with only little nibbles. Continued up to the northern end.

Water was very still up there. Still a little bit of shade along that area, so kept with the topwater. Mixed in with a DS and swimbait here and there. Not a single bite. Looped past the landing to let those fish in peace and continued along the forest bank. Looks so fishy. I can see lots of pebble rocks with grass about 20' out. But man, nothing!

I get close to the helicopter peninsula and set the hook on the DS to a solid fish in ~15' of water at the end of a dock. Flashes as a SMB, looked like a nice one. Have net in hand ready to scoop and it just comes unbuttoned as I'm reaching into the water. DOH! Looked like a 2.5# or so. Was trying to horse it too much I guess. Landed a 1# SMB on the next dock though. Short and fat. Caught a couple more 1# LMB. Starting off, I caught more LMB than SMB this morning. 3-1 ratio for the first 4 bass.

Moved around quite a bit today. I was fishing a laydown in shallow water. Nothing there, but as I'm drifting, spotted a nice ~3# LMB cruising the sandy inside weedline in 4-5' of water. Spooked it and disappeared on me.

Catching a handful of 1#s SMB here and there.

Pitched the DS in between a dock and boat. I feel it. Set the hook. BAM! Feels like a good one. It pulls and curves around the piling. I give a little bit, and start pulling, then slack! Reeled in and see it broke off at the hook. UGH. Disgusting. Didn't see it, but definitely 2.5#+ IMO. So if anyone catches a nice bass with a green hook and teardrop weight dangling it from the mouth, can you please return my gear, thx.

On a deep point and pitched the DS into ~18' of water. I feel a tap, but I couldn't tell at first if it was because I hit the bottom. Lift up, but didn't feel anything. I now see the line is moving a little to the side. Reeled towards the water to get any slack and set the hook.... FISH ON! Feels like a nice one. Does a few darts deep down. Get color and see it's a SMB, not bad. Didn't weigh it, but guessing 2.25# range.

Tried fishing on this hump in 40' or so that I've had luck in the past summers. Water still isn't warm enough to put the fish there apparently. Not even nibble.

Moving around and caught probably 5 more dink SMB 1#ers. Ended the day with just those 3 LMB from the start and quite a few SMB.
Caught on DS, topwater, and football jig. Nothing on swimbait today. Even tried a swimjig, but still drawing a blank on those.

Thanks for the detailed report. Most of my action has been on a DS in about 15 + fow. Haven't gotten any thing of size shallower than that for a couple of weeks. Guess I should try some topwater, but mostly sticking to DS. Heading out tomorrow on Sammamish. I'll be looking for your gear. ;-)
