Actually was there in the morning at 6:15am for 2 1/2 hours with nothing, only a couple bites. We came back for the Evening and as soon as the sun started to go over the tree line, we were getting bites all evening for the last 45min. I ended up getting 5, but had to send them all back. My father got 2 that he had to send back, and our other friend got 2 as well but had to send them back. I am not sure why only little guys were biting and staying on the line but they sure were hungry. We tried powerbait, spinners, treble hooks, single hooks, bobbers, worms, and marshmallows with multiple different combinations. Best combo for us was a bobber, w/ a 24" lead and a simple worm as bait. We'll hit this lake again in the future as it is very close to home.

Are you sure you weren't catching Yellow Perch? Unlikely to catch Rainbows on worms under a float now, as the surface temp of the lake is above 70 degrees. Any Rainbows in the lake now would be larger than their planted size in the Spring, of at least 10". ?? PTL!

Yes! We caught yellow perch, one tiny trout, and one tiny bass. All thrown back. We were going for trout and bass but you are correct about the surface temp. Just too warm.
