After a brutal hike up and over the North Lake saddle from Independence Lake, I finally got my son and mine rods fishing the North Lake. He didn't catch anything on a olive woolly bugger, but I caught a 13 inch on a black woolly bugger at about 1.5 ft below the surface on a slip float. After that, we didn't get any more bites but saw several fish surface towards the middle of the lake.
