This report is for a day in our annual family trek from eastern Washington to sekiu. We go in August on odd years to take advantage of the numerous pink salmon that migrate to Puget Sound and the Fraser River. Even years we go in September for silvers. I have been coming nearly every summer for over 50 years and my son or if I'm very lucky both sons have been coming for the last 20.
Even though the Humpy run is down this year and there is no bonus limit, they are numerous enough and nice size.
We have been quickly catching good numbers, with good size 6-8 pounds. Sprinkled into the mix is the occasional Coho and the very occasional Chinook. Trolling with a variety of lures including brads cut plug superbait and salmon size wiggle hoochies.
