I decided to fish the North end near Bloedell Donovan. Ended up catching 1 dinky smallmouth by the 1st island on the shaky head using a zoom finesse worm of the Red Pumkin variety. Switched over to a PB&J colored Senko, got a ton of nibs from what i imagine were small perch, but nothing big enough to take the hook. Pound for pound lake Whatcom is the most productive lake I have fished. I saw a fair amount of surface action so I may hit the South end with a fly rod.......Will report back.
