Had a heckuva day out in MA-10! Fishing solo. Intended to go over to Jefferson Head but got lazy and fished off of Edmonds and south.
Had 4 fish on in about 3 hours. First fish in the pic, nice little hatchery Chinook, hit on the Old Goat OG-2 blue/black about 10 minutes after I put the line down. Second fish was a slammin takedown, again blue/black OG-2, and fish took off, thought I was going to get spooled so turned to chase him and then I got the big tug and line went slack so I knew a seal got him. About a minute later up pops a sea lion with a really nice fish and my OG-2 and flasher dangling from his mouth. That was my only OG-2 blue/black so switched to an OG-2 white/black. Third fish hit the white/black OG-2, was about 6-7lbs wild Chinook so back in the water. Fourth fish made it to within 50 feet of the boat and bango another seal meal along with my last OG-2. I figured that was the sign from above, and it was getting hot so headed for home.
What a great morning!!!! Sometimes the 5 star rating is about more than how many fish in the box. Today was definitely one of those days.
Beginning to wonder why I have so much gear in the boat when its beginning to appear all I need is a couple Old Goat OG-2's!!!
Red Racer flasher, 42 inch leader, Old Goat OG-2 blue/black and white/black, about 65 on the cable, outgoing tide.
Tight Lines!!!
Randy
