Fished Clear Lake early in the fog on Monday morning. Just got a new 5 hp Mercury for my Jon boat and got a chance to run around the lake a little after the fog lifted. Sure is fun to get across the lake faster now than in the past when I had only electric power. Did some fishing too. Did okay, boating and releasing 10 largemouth bass, 3 large crappie and a handful of real aggressive perch...all on my hand poured 7 inch chartreuse weenies (as I call them). The bigger bass were between 3 and 5 pounds, but no giants today. No real pattern...I just covered water. Got some on lily pads edges, some off pilings, and some around docks. Had the lake all to myself until I noticed a kayaker when the fog lifted. Calm, cool and no smoke in the air like at home. What a beautiful morning!
