Alder Lake 8-8-17
Kim and I started about 7:30am with only 1 vehicle in the lot. But a total of 3 boats trolling longline.
It was very smoky (B.C. Fires) and already warm out. No breeze on the lake until we were almost done for the morning. We left close to noon…but got checked by the TPU checker guy, Cole. Very nice young man.
The water temperature was 75 when we started and 76 as we left. The pleasure boaters didn’t come out until 11.
From watching my last video footage I started with a Bloody Mary and a Dodger in Watermelon on the lowest rod. It got the first kokanee. But then the upper saw a lot of action with a Mini Spinner in green with a Chrome Clown dodger. Later switching out to both Clown dodgers and added a green beaded lure I made a few years ago. I started out at 20 and 30 feet on the downriggers. Then up to 17 and 27 feet. The water at 20 feet and below was really murky.
It appears that one side of the boat is catchier than the other as Kim pointed out. Last week it was on her side this week mine. But as I was reflecting I had 2 rods. She had one. I think we did about the same. I got 5 kokanee and 4 trout. She got 2 trout, a kokanee, and a crappie. Another trifecta for her.
