I had an afternoon to kill, and ended up limiting out way faster than anticipated. Going up to Dog Lake (where it was 65 degrees) was a nice relief from the wildfire smoke and near triple digits we have been having in Yakima. It was a pretty laid back afternoon. I sat in my lawn chair, feet propped up on a rock sipping a couple cold ones.

I was very surprised at the action. Usually Dog Lake is getting very sluggish by this time of year. But not today. The bite was on. I arrived at 12:30 and limited by 2:30. I lost a few in the process. The fish are beginning to turn pink after being planted in the lake for several months as well. I caught all of them on red and orange power eggs off the bottom using approximately 1.5 oz of weight with about three feet of leader to get past the shallows. I was fishing in my usual location as well (indicated on the map).

Tight lines guys
