Two of us in a small boat searching for the illusive King. 18 hours of fishing brought us a 24 inch king, and 1 hundred pound shark and no other bites. There was lots of bait all over the bay but no fish were showing. Then on Sat. the day of the derby we fished all day long up until 2 hours before derby weigh in time, and suddenly came a bait ball holding fish and action . We landed a nice 14 lb. king and had to immediately return to the dock to weigh in for the derby and leave all the action area we had searched for for 2 days. Decided to go home. Got burned out . and only 30 fish got caught for the derby. ouch.
