Took a friend fishing this morning. He usually does salt with his Kayak or fishes rivers so this was a different experience for him. We used my gear, dropped a downrigger and went straight out from Coulon up the log boom with it at 25'. Got to the point and caught a medium sized Chinook which was released and dove down without hesitation. We rounded the corner and went over by the practice field to hunt for panfish.
Used the electronics and found a school of fish, hooking a number of smallish perch before moving about 50' North to another group we saw. Started catching some over 8". We kept the fatter ones and those that were larger. Ended up with 24 nice ones for taco's.
Fished from about 7-11am. Fun day!
Used drop shot rigs with senco pieces in white with fleck.
