Another day on the Puyallup River and I had a blast with my buddy Austin. I thought we had staked out the prime spot on the upper river (and it was). On my 5th cast of the morning I hooked into a monster king and he shot up stream and back down. I had him to shore when he rolled under a log and snapped my braided. I thought that there must be more in the river like him and about an hour later I proved to be right. At about 10ish I had my pink corkey & yarn slammed by a beast. This time the fish was angry about something and ran down river with my reel screaming (He almost spooled me) I was able to recover and slowly work him back to shore, then the unthinkable happened. He turned and shot under the same log as before and once again he broke my line! They’re in there you just have to work them pretty hard.
I didn't walk away with any fish, but just the chance to fight one of these lunkers was worth a 3 rating.
Note: The banks of the river were appalling with all the trash. Please keep it clean.....Snod
