This report for those who want to fish the lake . left the hydro pits about 12:30 ,my first trip back to the pond in almost 2 years back and heart issues . Ok made the rounds , the north east end of Seward Park across to the end of the island around Coulon Park , the river then Atlantic City launch and on back just about to the south end of Seward Park , trying what I thought would be the right stuff color and bait combos only to find a big Zero to that point . Then remembering what Berry said in a report early this summer this year . So with that thought in mind ,looking into the bag I brought along of tackle , chose the 6" Shasta UV shark sling & a small size purple squid / worm 3/4" trailer on the second hook , approx 15" leader 75' behind & 30 feet down , Well ya color does matter also finding the fish counts too. Now considering the parade of off shore race boats making a lap around the island , not to mention jet ski and all the rest of the Saturday boater's out there in the area making more noise ,well what are the odd's of even seeing anything on the screen much less to catch a fish . Four fish in less than 45 minutes not a record by any means . The pics taken were on the girlfriend's phone and I didn't have time to down load to my computer , next report will try to add them , 4 fish all Cutthroat 18+" being the largest & 11 " the smallest . All in all I was very happy with the outing , finding the right combo but to hit 4 in row in those conditions , now those who fish the area know , Well a very big THANK YOU to Berry for the info to say the least is in order. Maybe just the right stuff ? Maybe Barry"s info ? Or just luck ? I'd say Salmonberry's report all I know is it felt damn good to be able get out and do it again after the long time waiting . Again thanks to the reports on this web site these things are possible, maybe a note of praise to Mike and those who started it way back when may be due here. Hoping to get out another time or two before the weather and the rains hit . The hot dry weather has slowed down fishing all around to catch the fish may be a very short window of time now.
