Gave up on salmon and decided to give Toad another shot on the way back into town. Not a soul on or around the water, super still water. Fished with a buddy vacationing from Arizona, hoping to show him that trout can grow larger than 7". Usual assortment of power baits/eggs/mouse tails garnered absolutely squat. Plenty of insect activity on the surface but saw only one fish jump the entire 2 hours. Sudden rain squall overcame my stubbornness and we beat a hasty retreat to the car.
