Spotted the Mean Green in the lot, but odds are AMX was close to heading in by this time, lol. First cast at 9AM.

Starting off on the west bank since it was getting sun and I figured the fish would want to warm up. First outing with a new dropshot combo.
45 mins and not a single bite. No nibbles from panfish. Nothing.

Searching with a small swimbait too. At about the 50 min mark, I finally get a nibble, but didn't hook up. Felt like a panfish.

Near the 1 hour mark, I set the hook on another bite and fish on! I see it has 3 buddies with it! I wasn't aggressive with the fish to keep the others calm. 1.85# SMB. Nice. I immediately toss the DS back into the mix. Nothing at first. I keep jigging it closer and closer to the boat. Then felt funny and set the hook. Fish on! This one about just as big or maybe slightly bigger. It jumps and spits the hook at boat side. Oh well, had a good look at it. Toss the DS back to see if the other 2 will bite. Instantly, I feel a bite and set the hook. Again, this one comes flying out of the water. A little bit smaller than the first one. Still net it for easier unhooking. Tried 10 more mins to see if I could get that 4th fish to bite, but that's it. So hooking 3 out of the 4 in that little spot was pretty fun after an uneventful start. The 1st bass spit out a fish. Couldn't tell what it was, but from the profile, probably a small bluegill or sunfish. Partially digested since it was all white. Wanted to get closer to look, but a seagull comes swooping in and snatch it.

Continue along the shoreline with only 1 nibble. Brutal.

So 2 hours in and almost no action except for that little spot. I start moving to the east shoreline and worked a dropoff with some bait fish around. A couple of nips, but that's it. Start heading back south and stop off at a deep point. 0 bites here. Hit a couple of docks as I continue my way down with no sign of life. Accidently cut off a fisherman along here. I didn't see him coming up. Heard a dog barking and looked down and see the bassboat. Took that opportunity for a snack and pull out. My bad.

I figure lets swing by Fart Hole and see if any action during the fall. As I'm pulling up to it, I can see something jumping along the surface farther out in deeper water. Looked like a trout or something. Tossed the swimbait out and started burning it. 1st cast, fish on! Wow, I wonder what it is.......A squawfish! Not a big one. Maybe 13" or so. Pulled into Fart Hole and try the swimbait for a bit. Then DS. Not even a nibble. Start working the shoreline and I spotted baitfish in about 20' of water. So I used the DS. 1# SMB in that mix.

Worked another deep point bc I saw markings. Got 1 strike, but didn't hook up.

Time to check out 4# hole. 1st cast, missed a strike. 2nd cast, 1# SMB. 3rd cast, 1# SMB. Nice. I like this consistent action, even if they aren't giants. Did a lot of fan casting here. Stayed at this spot for about 1 hour, maybe 1.5 hour. I believe I landed 7 from here. Biggest was 2.35# SMB. Another one just right at about 2#. Rest probably 1.5#. One was very short, maybe 12" or so only.

So 11 bass for 4 hours of fishing isn't too bad I guess, but man did I have to search for them. Even for just a bite.

Gonna try to hit up it up early tomorrow for a short day.

Didn't see this one until later. Funny, i never saw you out there. A lot more fishing boats out this day than recently. Didn't fish too long as i had other things to attend to.

Lol I didn't see many boats at all. Thought the lake was very calm and relaxing.

I hope the dry weather sticks around for next week. Need to try and do more catching instead of just fishing, lol.

Don't worry, I was fishing plenty in the short time I had. Was so hot in the afternoon, we needed to keep the boat moving to slow down the sweat. Ended up trolling for some trout, which we found. Down at 60'. The barb wasn't the problem. Twice the hook was pushed through, with only the line and plastic on the mouth side of the fish. I had to grab the hook and push it through his skin with the eye of the hook first. Kind of weird having the hook flopping around with the plastic in the mouth. Not sure how the fish accomplished that, but it was definitely not going to fall off like they often do. No pecking or warning on the hits. Just like I was stuck on the bottom on a snag. Do you ever fish the sunken boat? Very snaggy, but the smallies hang around the edge of it.
