Hit the river early 6:15am and it's been boiling almost every spot I've fished this week. Today I fished exclusively jigs of varied styles and colors. I lost about 5 fish, had about 10 other strikes or pickups. Caught and released 3: Pink Hen, Pink Buck and a Coho Jack. Along with that I probably had another 10 hits/pickups through the 3-4 hours we fished.

9am: My buddy lost his jig and I was in waders, I offer to get our gear which was back a stretch downriver, I told him to keep fishing the spot with my rod and I'd fetch our stuff. MFer hooks in a fish before I make it to the gear bag and I hurry back just in time to help him net his first Coho 7lb - 24inch

Anyways, it's been perfect foggy fishing weather, morning temps are great and the banks have been a lot less crowded now that the Humpy season has ended. Get out there guys!

Cheers,
M

Nice job man! It's great to hear of soluch great conditions and action given how long it's been since good things have been reported about on the snoho. Where on the river was this? I'm thinking of going up near Thomas eddy this Saturday after work in the rain.

I walked into a spot right near-ish Thomas Eddy. I'm a ways up river from Downtown. I've also been fishing the lower Sky in a few spots. The last 3 days have been a little surreal with how sh*t my Pink season was. I've landed and hooked up with more fish in 3 mornings this week then I did the entire Pink season. The fishing has turned in my opinion, especially in the spots I've been scouting since early August. I've heard from others LATER evenings and EARLY mornings are the PRIME TIME.

Thanks man! It's nice to see healthy Coho running like this. Hopefully it's thick.

Thanks Bent. Videos are coming soon. I'm having a blast catching anything and everything that'll bite.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the area I live in Oak Harbor and I was just wondering could anyone help me out finding some good spots to fish on snohomish and what to use. I would really appreciate it. Thank you

I can help. Have you driven around much on the Snohomish River scouting spots? Google maps is where I started. Look at the river and possible access. Go there and see if your gear works.

Start at Thomas Eddy. Good reference of the area.

MosesMayhem,
I have not driven to the snohomish river so I wouldn't know where to find the Thomas eddy if I was driving.

Google it brother! It's a really easily accessible spot from what I hear, I've actually never fished there specifically.

Gear of choice right now are jigs 1/4oz and 3/8oz depending on current and depth of the spot. My theory this early is throwing a lot of different colors to see what they are interested in. If you haven't done a lot of work with jigs, YouTube some videos and if you are buying some don't just buy 2 or 3, because you will lose them if you are fishing them right (near the bottom). This morning I probably lost 6 to 10 jigs playing around for Coho's near this snaggy spot. But I also got about 3 or 4 really good hits, 1 was on and ran me along the snag and cut my line. I'm going to jig and do some drift fishing with yarn and bait tomorrow. I'll hopefully have something to report. Good luck man, let us know if you catch something pretty, lots of ugly Humpys in there.

I’ve always fished downtown snohomish. Much more of a skykomish river fisherman. But it’s still a little early. Was thinking about trying Thomas eddy. Do I just park in that parking lot and walk? How far is the river?

Google it and itll show you how far. maybe a 1/8 or 1/4 mile depending on how far you want to walk. if you don't get there early good luck getting a spot as well. it gets packed early and cars start lining the roads.
