Fly fished this lake on Friday late afternoon. Had no watch; coulda been as late as 6 pm or so. I had heard rumors of really large trout in this lake. After being there, I would have to see them to believe it :) The lake is pretty shallow and does not have a lot of vegetation, so it seems to me the food source availability is not sufficient to grow 'em big.

I did hook about 15 fish and landed 8 or 9 of them--all cutthroats. All very small, but beautiful. The largest I landed was not more than 10" long, and most were 6".

This lake is quite a hike in--we actually went on horses, but there were hikers there fishing as well. They started right after I finished and went back to camp. I didn't talk to them later to find out how they did--they were using spinning gear.
