10/23/2017 11:11:07 AMThe fishfinder is a Helix 5 G2 ( a link is available in the comments section of the video). Newer Hobie kayaks come with a specialized scupper (a recess in the bottom of the kayak) for mounting a transducer. Otherwise I use what is called "the puck" methods for my other kayaks.

10/24/2017 4:28:11 AMQuestion? The boat and all the extras as seen in this video ,what figure would you put as a cost to outfit the boat not to include tackle and or gear? Have to say for a Kayak it seems to have all the bells and whistles and looks really neat as well , only wonder how does it do when the wind kicks up say more then 7-10 mph and your a mile or more from where you launch down wind , must be a fun time ! of course with a tail wind , that might be not so bad. The information in your video is well worth watching , fishing that lake this time of year looks like you have it all to yourself . Nice bunch of fish too.

It is a lot of money for a kayak and it could be done for much cheaper but its my passion and my butt is in that boat 80+ days a year. For the savings in kayak angling comes after the purchase. I can fish in 7-10 mph winds all day especially in my pedal kayak. When winds start tipping towards 15-20 mph then it can be a struggle. That being said I've gone 6 miles offshore in pursuit of Coho when the wind kicked up and had no worries that I would be able to make it back. Maintaining troll speeds for koke/trout is so incredibly easy I could and do do it 8+ hours without any ill affects. However, everybody has different physical limitations and you do need take in account weather just as any other angler would.
