We arrived at the lake for probably one of the last trips to Goose for the year. We were amazed at the water level! There was debris at the very edge of the parking lot. The boat ramp was completely covered with water and the lake was brown muddy! It was like fishing in a mill pond with logs, tree limbs, leaves and duff floating in large rafts all over the lake. There were other tube fishermen who all reported one or two fish for the morning's fishing. We were fly fishing and both trolled and anchored and casted and retrieved flies...mostly black wooly buggers with a bead head. The two of us caught 7 fish total for about 6 hours of fishing. You could only see about 6 inched into the water. We looked for evidence of a slide or something else to account for all the mud in the water...didn't see anything. The area had a lot of rain in the past few days like 6-7 inches... but I've never seen a lake washed out by rain before. Water temp was 41 degrees.
