Made it to the launch around 7:45 Stan Sayers, made a run south to the river & park area seeing little to nothing on the sonar , then a b line to the south end of the island , still nothing on the screen about ready to run up on the dock at the big white house when wiggle bounce went the pole . After a short fight from the fish , only to see a sockeye about 18" that had got itself flow hooked on the top of its head , releasing as quickly as I could , thinking how did that happen? After running through Salmonbarry's spot up around to the north , with no further action decided to go to the north end of the island and the I-90 bridge area, seeing fish after fish between 60 & 85 ft. lined up in a row . After some two or more hours ,trying to figure out the right stuff , no action at all . Making another effort to catch a fish west bound on the south side of the bridge seeing the same thing on the screen over and over . Well by this time was about to call a day and no sooner then I could start to reel up the gear down goes the pole , Oh dear that was fun trying to pull up a fish that was a bit larger then expected , and needless to say it was stronger then gear could withstand , but the fight made up for spending all day ridding around in the boat . Maybe next time ,or make sure the drag is a bit loser . I did get the dodger back however so it wasn't so bad. After getting back to the launch talking to the boat that left just before me , they didn't do much better 3 fishing 4 fish total from the 520 bridge area and Djs spot .
