Since it been warm all week decided to try Cassidy again hadn't been there in month or more so didn't know what to expect. Checked weather forecast dead calm which is rare there so figured top water may work. Put in at boat launch and fished pads right by launch on right first three casts rolls and taps and fish on! Looks like might be a good day. Had 2nd fish follow my perch color minnow all the way to the boat and stick his head up...looked bigger or a crappie. Worked my way down right side getting bites here and there in middle and outside of pads...got 10" and 12" that jumped. Got to white house that feeds the birds and caught four more...three in a row had to move the minnow slow to get bites let all the first ripples go away then move it a touch...I spooked a few by moving it too fast and saw the rollers as they swam off. Next fish was a good one by dock he jumped twice and threw the lure 12"+ I saw him. Michael Jordan of fish. Turned the corner more green slime in water but didn't affect the bite was still catching fish on top water minnow here and there. Was up to 18 fish after 2 hours and was closing in on my lake record of 28 Bass in a day there....Got to corner and wind picked up some....didn't have much luck by bird houses where I usually catch fish in fall and summer. About half way toward creek I found a big one. He jumped twice and splashed me and my glasses by the boat. Still landed him 13.5". Next found pattern deeper in pads in openings and they were more aggressive had one hit the lure and keep going about 4 feet flying across the water....

It was pretty warm on Saturday never put on my jacket and took my sweatshirt shortly after arrival. Good fall bassin' with top water. Last fish I got I was by public dock on far side and motored all the way across the lake to dock left of boat launch and fished to right of there...cut motor and first cast (after trek across lake) a bite and roll and fish on! 12" for #33. New record for me at Cassidy.

I also tried buzz bait and rat L trap on bait cast reel but no bites on those.

Got 13.5", 4 12" 2 11" and 1 10" were big one's and they all jumped at least once.

A good day on the water fished noon to about 5:45pm.

Good luck out there.

James

Fished one of my "No Tellum" lakes...aka 'Secret' spots with almost identical results. Boated over 30 and you had to let the Rapala sit for at least 5 seconds or they swam the other way! Deadsticking it was almost better. Caught a few bigger fish on a swim jig but nothing over 3 pounds. Beautiful time of year to be on the water!

Yep it was a good day...glad I went Sat instead of mostly foggy Sunday. I have gotten more before in a day but not at Cassidy. Cassidy doesn't have many deep weeds like other lakes I fish so those I fish 20-40 ft from shore out from lily pads and do well...but Cassidy is one of those lakes I have never caught much out deep from pads on top water. Cassidy seems to be a lake that they don't chase your minnow much...caught more by not moving it then swimming it back. Thanks guys it was a good time...key to fishing timing....dead calm helped!
