Finally found the parking area at the mouth of Chico Creek. Stopped by after chemistry class around 1:30. Was incredible fishing! I stayed for about an hour, maybe a little longer, and hooked into NINE chum! I started with a blue and pink jig. After fishing it for 15 minutes or so, I switched to a pink quarter ounce maribou jig, and it was GAME ON! I couldn't keep them off that jig! First 3 casts produced hits, 2 snagged, 1 in the mouth, 2 landed. The rest of the afternoon I averaged a hookup every 3 casts. I landed 5 of the 9 I hooked into, 2 were in the mouth, all were released. The ninth I hooked into was a brighter and larger fish that wrapped me around a tree trunk and broke me off, so I called it a night. Lots of fish pushing up with the rains, get ready for some good chum action upstream from the river mouths in the next couple days!
