My son and I left Yakima at 6 AM Monday morning for a couple of days of fishing at Lake Roosevelt. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperating. It rained hard all day Monday and light rain Tuesday. We started fishing at Keller Ferry at 10:30 Monday and we both had our limits by 3:30. My son released two wild trout that were in the 14-15 inch range that looked like pen fish that were not clipped. We were soaked through and we headed for the Motel. Tuesday morning it was again raining but not as hard. We hit the water at daylight and had our limits by noon. I released one very nice red band that was in the 21 inch range. We fished with Perch and Orange Kekeda flies on leaded line out four colors. We had intended to fish with the downriggers too but it was just too nasty to try to mess with them and the fish were biting regularly on the leaded line rods. We found a White Tail buck carcass on the shore that had four points on each side. There was a doe carcass in the same area. Looks like a disease may have taken its toll.
