So this report covers from the 23rd to the 25th. So over the past few years the family has made camping over Thanksgiving kind of a tradition. This year after looking over the weather reports we settled on going to the Potholes State Park. While the weather cooperated with us, the fish didn't. We worked real hard over the three days to get four walleyes and a big perch. The walleye were all between 15" and 16". We fished line spinners, Mack's smile blades with slow death hooks, blade baits, crank baits and even threw some buck tails. We fished all over the lake and could pick one fish up here and then the next one over there. No matter how hard we tried we couldn't duplicate the results. All fish were caught on chartreuse or gold line spinners #4 Colorado blade.
While the fishing wasn't fast and furious it is always fun to put your skills to the test. And the one up side to camping in November is that you have your choice of spots and no neighbors.
