Got to the launch ramp @8 am started trolling down left side with my homemade planer board and small gang troll and wedding ring in green @40ft back .two nice bows to start the day around 20 ". Then it slowed down so moved to far end of lake. Friend got the bite going with a set of ford fenders two more nice bow then we got in to a lot of 8" fish called it. Some wind but not bad

Thanks for the report. Is it still an unimproved launch? Last time I drove by there was no way to launch a larger boat? I suppose most charts still don't show the rock outcrops in the lake. I use to fish Rock lake from the shore when i was young, but I'm not sure taking a nice boat there is a good idea.

Launch is rough I've got a 18 aluminum and 4wd just have to take it slow .Stay in middle until you get to know the lake and watch the wind /WEATHER

rwiley - I know your boat, and you know mine. No way I'd launch either at Rock. JMHO.

Unimproved launch is a bit of an understatement. :-)

Great report, I love using side planers on this lake. Did you hook up with any deeper fish or are they running towards the top with the thermocline breaking down this time of year?

My neighbor did get two out 50 ft with 2 Oz and ford fenders . Thinking of making a set of bigger planer boards with a release on them
