I started trolling at 8:00 and quit around 2:00. For the first 3-1/2 hours I had nothing (but was marking some nice size fish). I tried everything in the book. Trolled faster/slower, more weight/less weight, lure types, flashers/dodgers, different colors, but no luck. Until I passed the other boat on the lake and they mentioned hooking a nice rainbow on the very east side of the lake. Usually in the summer there is not much there. But today it was a different story. I hooked 7 fish within the next 2 hours (kept 2). All were caught on a pink/nickel dodger and pink/glow smiley blade. With piece of Nightcrawler. All were Nice size fish (probably 15" to 17") and great fighters.
Side note: perhaps the lack of a bite in the morning was due to the weather system that passed through overnight.
