I've been bouncing around between Lake Alice and Rattlesnake Lake (my local spots) and the bite has been hit or miss, until tonight. Was able to consistently land a few bows and the sunset was the cherry on top. Dropped the boat in around 430pm and had read TM_Bob's report on the right side of the launch being a productive spot so I started there.. Fish on immediately. Decided to do some laps around there and bang bang. Literally had one fish swim right into the side of my boat, he was a little dazed for a second then swam off.
I saw a few jumping out around the middle of the lake so I took a few passes out there. Fish were near the surface so I didn't have to troll too deep to catch them. Seemed liked the farther I went out the bigger they got. Nothing crazy but a few 13" made for some good battles on my light action gear. As the night went on, the sun kept showing more and more and so did the fish.
Because of selective gear rules my offerings were limited but I had a few pink and green colored items that did the trick. Trolling a minimal setup, nothing too flashy, and small worked best.
I've been following this site for a few years now and I've probably met some of you but this is my first post. Usually on my decked Jon that I pull with my Frontier. See ya'll out there!
