Went out with my friend Lonzo today to see if we could put a few trout in the boat. We got to the lake a little before noon. It was overcast and the water temp was a chilly 47 degrees. There were a few other boats on the water today, not sure how they did. We had to work for our limits and had a great time as always putting them in the boat. The fish came between 10-16 ft today. The largest fish hit 17 inches TL. We had several fish put on aerial displays for us today. I had one big fish that looked like a football emerging out of the water and into the air. It unfortunately shook the lure and lives to be caught another day. Another fish we caught was healing from talon wounds, and we decided if it can escape an eagle we should let it live a little bit longer. I think we may hit a new lake tomorrow, but its hard to pass up on another day out at offutt.
