I fished Black Lake Yesterday for the very first time. I started at dawn and trolled one complete circle of the lake using some different flasher and bait set-ups. To my surprise the first rainbow was caught when I accidently drifted a little off course and ended up in only 8 feet of water. Normally I never troll in this shallow of water (usually like to fish 15-25 feet at other lakes). But today, the hot spot for me was at 8 to 14 feet of water. I caught all rainbows on a 4" pink/nickel dodger and a pink/cream smiley blade (with a little nightcrawler piece added). The only weight I used was a small 1/8 ounce slider. I had "hits" almost ever time through his location. The fish were not huge, but did put up some great battles.
