My partner and I Fished Lake Washington from the Magnuson Park Boat Launch. Starting out, we began fishing off Thorton Creek using downriggers staying in 80 to 100 feet of water with a 50 foot setting on the downriggers with a speed of 1.4 to 1.8 MPH. As the morning progressed, we stayed with the same depth and speed and trolled north to where McAleer Creek dumps into the lake where we ended our fishing day on the lake. We brought 5 Cutthroat 16 to 22 inches to the net in 4 1/2 hours of fishing using a 4" Mack's Sling Blade (silver with UV insert) which was attached by a 16 inch leader to a Silver Horde Ace Hi Fly Junior with blue spatter back with double hooks. We used Smelly Jellly Trout Feast as an attractant. We hooked and lost 3 other nice size Cutthroat. When we gutted out the fish, their stomachs were fully crammed tight with small fish. You would have thought they had enough to eat but they apparently wanted more. It was a perfect fishing morning on the lake.
