My friend Jon from California came to visit for a few days so I decided to take him out to do a little trout fishing. We headed out to Offutt lake around 9:00 in the morning. We had lines in the water around 10, had our first fish on in less than 5 minutes of fishing. The fishing action was fast and furious. I basically used the same gear that I had tied on from my last venture to the lake. We had a silver flasher topline setup with a red dot frog needle fish, and gold/orange rapala, and a white and redhead luckycraft crankbait. We fished one downrigger at 12ft and the other at 15. We had our 10 fish limit in less than 2 hours of fishing. We got a lot of planters and one nice 17 inch hold over. We got home and cleaned our fish, two of my neighbors were excited for some fresh fish for dinner. We will be trying American lake or one of the other local lakes tomorrow. tight lines!
