Made a trip to chelan this weekend to target some smallmouths. Hit the water at about 6:30am, fished the rock wall along the highway and around wapato point throwing crankbaits, plastics and jigs... nothing. After a few hours we threw on some crankbaits and started trolling about 300 yards off the Manson boat launch in about 25 feet of water, first pass and we get a 12 pound mackinaw, pass number 2 we got a 7 pounder, pass 3 a 3.5 pounder. A buddy I'm another boat got two smallies and those were the only bass we saw this weekend. Fishes Sunday for a bit and pulled out one more 3 pound mackinaw with a football jig. Couldn't get on the bass but can't complain about some big fish.

Must be a blast to hook those in 25’ of water. They probably fight better vs caching them at 250’ Nice fish, thanks for posting

Was definitely a nice surprise seeing that first one surface, had to pay on it to keep it from flopping out of the boat after it broke my net, strong fish

What color and crankbaits were you using.

One was a rapala that was pink and purple and the other was a green strike king, both deep divers to about 18 to 20 feet
