It seemed like a long winter, but opening weekend for fishing makes everything better.
Avoided opening day crowds and fished 11-5 Sunday. About five boats on the lake at any one time.

The weather was a mixed bag....from absolute pouring rain to sprinkles to moments of brief sunshine. Lake temp was already at 61 degrees.

Some seasons you come back and feel like you've lost your touch and can't set a hook, slow on the response, etc etc. but today felt like no time had passed. Easy fishing. We were blessed to catch 14. P. got the largest and the most with 6 rainbows. K. boated 3 and I had 5. Watched others around us not boat anything so we were thrilled. Returning to the boat ramp two other very avid and regular fishermen had gotten skunked.

Had some gourmet hamburgers on the grill in the boat and enjoyed lots of laughs and good conversation.
What a way to start the season. Thank you fish gods.
