This is actually a report for Rebecca lake, on the Colville Indian Reservation. It does not show as listed within Okanogan county, as do the other Reservation lakes.
Anyhoo... Our last morning on the Res. we had wanted to go out with some bass fishing. Rebecca is said to be pretty heavy dosed in bass, but so said to be mostly smaller bass. The lake has a skinny little launch site, which is appropriate for jon boats, or smaller type boats, 14' or less.
We fished from 8' prams, electric motors.
The lake is super shallow. Sonar said deepest spots maybe 9' deep. Mostly 4-5' depth. It has a large amount of milfoil, although not completely choked out. Lake surrounded by cattails, etc. Lots of little small pocket coves to cast into. Decent clarity in the water.
I through almost nothing but a Texas rigged 5" Senko, watermelon color. A few small finesse worms that I actually T-rigged as well.
The cool thing was that all the bass I caught this weekend came from different methods that I usually NEVER fish with. T-rigged plastics, and jigs. So, finally I might be broadening my bass game.
I caught two small LMB, about 1.0 lb, and 2nd fish was a true dink, less than that. My partner, 'Wayne' caught a couple as well, if I recall right, and his were smallish as well. We had to go check out of the lodging, so it was a quick fish. Lots of great bird activity in the area, pheasants, quail, etc.
Forgot to mention before that we closed the weekend out with a drive up to some favorite lakes of mine, near Loomis. 'Connor' lake and Fjord lake. All the lakes in that chain, 'Sinlahekin (sp?) valley... All these lakes were super flooded. The water was chocolate milk, no visibility. Did not stay to fish. Did have a rhondeivougw with a rattlesnake up there. That was pretty cool. Never had met one in public before.
Got to interact with it a bit, get dialed into just what the rattle sounds like.. took a mental note, filed it away.
