Wow, this was just what I needed to start another beautiful sunny day. I hit a local lake about 0745. The lake was in perfect condition, at least in my opinion. The lilly pads are 50% grown in. They were perfect for still being able to slide a T-rigged Senko through, or a weedless chatter bait, etc. On my 5th cast I hooked up on a nice 3.6 lb LMB. I worked this area for at least another hour, lol. I then pulled in a 1.8 and a 1.5 lb bass, both those on Senkos as well. The last one was kind of funny. There was this super dark and fish looking area back within a large willow tree's hangings... I tossed it back there. Unfortunately my line went over a tree branch, and into the sweet spot. I immediatly had a hook up, and wound having to kick my float tube into that hole, and wrestle the branch out of the tree, in order to get the fish.

Then the rest of the lake produced plenty of small hits, rock bass. Tons of trout seen roaming below the float tube.
Finally 3 docks from the pullout... I pitched that same T-rigged Senko under a dock. Felt a soft hit. DID NOT SET THE HOOK!
Say what?? Just did a hard fast reel, and sorta mini hook set via that hard reel. Next thing it turns into a very solid fish. Drag is running...
I bring the fish to arms length from the float tube. He does a violent shake, and spits the hook. I watch the very nice 3+ lb largie, go slowly towards the bottom. Better than any fish I caught last year. )-:

Senkos were dark colors, with specks. Also fished a top water frog. Had a few small dink type hits on that. Nothing special.
All fished released of course.

Guess what I'm doing after dinner..?
