I launched my rubber raft at the public boat launch and drifted about 30 yards to the left of the dock, right by the row of thick lilly pads. I was casting into the pads and retrieving towards the center of the lake with a spinner bait that had a 4in yellow and black beetle grub. Nailed a 3lb largemouth on my 5th cast and a 5lb on my 20th or so. The sun went down after about 30 casts and I had to leave. They didn't put up much of a fight and I figured I was dragging in underwater brush. A pretty great evening, all things considered.
