We put the boat in a little after 1pm. Headed up the lake about a mile and began trolling with two downriggers and a long line in the middle of the stern.

Shortly after we began trolling, noticed quite a bit of surface activity and what appeared to be a hatch of mayfly spinners. So, we took the weight off of the rod with the long-line and trolled a 2.8" perch OG1 behind a gang-troll with brass-colored blades. Trolling speed was between 1.7 and 2mph. This long-line setup accounted for the bulk of our fish.

Tally for the afternoon: 3 rainbows taken on the 2.8" perch OG1, 1 rainbow taken on the 2.8" fluoro pink OG1, and 1 brown taken on the 1.8" fluoro green/pink OG1.

Only downside of the entire trip was losing both downrigger balls on what appeared to be a suspended basalt structure just north of Johnson beach...
