I was out from 4pm to 6pm on the North end. The water was glassy, weather was cool and cloudy. Got four nice-sized ones, missed one, all down at 20ft/four colors back. C&R, barbless. Got three on a chart/wiggle hoochie and one on a brad's mini cut plug (green) both behind a 5" chart dodger. The last two caught me off guard; the first hit hard while I was reeling in the line, fast and absent-mindedly (it pulled the rod out of my left hand, saved it with my right); the second one hit while I was letting out line with the reel free-spooling. I've had that happen in the past and got a bird's nest out of the deal, but thankfully not this time, just a feisty 19"-er. I saw about 20-30 big carp actively feeding, fighting or spawning in muddy shallows under some lily pads in maybe 18" of water. I've never seen that behavior. Where's a spear-gun when you need one?
