Went to Rufus on Sunday to avoid the crowds on Roosevelt. On the water by 1400 and had the first eye on my second cast; ended up being the biggest fish of the day at 6 lbs. She was a spawned out hen caught on a blade bait. She and most of the other 22 eyes I caught were hooked on the downriver side of the island. Most productive bait on the day was a red or black jig with a green pumpkin/red flake grub or a pumpkin colored worm. The edge of the current was key for me although I did see a few boats trolling; including one with planer boards. Water temp was 54 and half of the hens I caught were also spawned out; this included several 4 and 5 lbers. Only one 14 inch dink was boated as well as a small burbot. The water is high and there is a very strong current coming out of Grand Coulee. Kept 5 to eat.
