Joined friends Gareld and Dell for three days of walleye fishing out of Kettle Falls on Roosevelt. The weather overall was pretty good and we only got sprinkled on once and there was not much wind to deal with. We fished Singer bay and up river to above marker 19.

Monday we got on the water around 9:00 and fished bottom bouncers around 1 mph in 15 to 40 feet of water. Green with a hint of orange was a hit but you know how that can change! I think walleyes are fickle but Gareld thinks they are easy to catch; hmmmm…..? The fish for the most part are 16 to 18 inches, great eaters for sure. We finished the day with 40 kept for the three of us. Day two was a repeat of day one and we ended up with 37 and a pike that did the craziest thing. He hit mine then went up and ate Garelds rig too! Hope you can see it in the pictures. That thing was hungry I guess. His head is in the freezer at the fish cleaning station for the $10 reward; now who gets the money? Guess we will have to put it in the pot for lunch.

Wednesday we fished till 1:30 and caught 26 for the day. The Mack's chartreuse/pink Walley Pop was the winner. Never know what will turn them on at any given time!! Water temp was 56 and they were in 35' of water. We fished as deep as 60' and caught walleye there too. Life is good for sure. Tight lines everybody; enjoy the sturgeon opener. I'll be in Oregon for grand daughters graduation from college; she graduated top in the pharmacy school.

A pike that small must have been born in that area of the Columbia. Doesn't that make it a native fish?? LOL
