The Packernut and I got out on Cda again yesterday for time after missing the last couple of weekends.
Started the day fishing in the location that has done well for me this year and managed one dink and two nice fish. I got a 30” 7 ½ pounder there and Mike got his first pike of the year with a great looking 32” 9 pounder. Congrats to him for breaking the ice for the year. We finished the day with a total of 12 pike. Biggest fish of the day was my 36” 14 pounder that hit a 1 oz white spinner bait. The fish were scattered in different depths. The first two came from a foot and a half of water then one at 8 feet. We moved to another spot and the big fish of the day came from 10-12 FOW.

We then moved into the chains where we got a few from 3-8 feet of water. Weed beds in the chains are up and prospering. The main lake is a little behind if you ask me. The weeds are there, they just haven’t broken the surface yet in very many locations.
We had to battle the wind for most of the day but it turned out to be a good day for nice fish and decent numbers. The little guy just goes to show, long arming a fish doesn’t always make them look bigger. This little fella hit a 1 oz spinner bait. We saw water temps from 57 to 64 on the day.

Gave this day a 5 because of decent numbers and quality fish. I hope to get one of those big number days here any time. :)
