FISH ON!!
This report is over a few days of fishing on the Cedar River, I fished from the mouth all the way to Ron Regis park. Consistently caught fish in all bodies of water with quick moving water with structure producing the bigger fish. Most fish were in the 10-12" range with a few really nice 16-18" fish. Ran into a lot of fly fisherman that didn't seem to be catching any fish, ran into one guy tossing flies that said "there's no fish in the river", so I said "do you mind if I cast into that spot", 1st cast 15" fish. Long story short rainbows just can't say no to a #2 spinner is what I've found through the years.

Colorful Rainbow! Spinner does not look silver though....also, is special gear not in effect on the river? (Single Barbless, also catch and release)

Nice looking fish! There's no doubt about the power of a spinner to get fish to bite.

Yeah, the Cedar is all "selective gear" (single hook, pinched barb - which some spinners are) and catch and release. I do my best to keep the fish I catch on the Cedar in the water as much as possible. Got to keep those trout healthy so they survive long after they swim away from the release!

Can you not drag fish onto rocks and grass just for a picture? It’s a selective rule catch and release fishery only therefore the fish need to be treated with absolute care. Unhook them in the water or invest in a small rubber meshed net to land them in so you can then take pictures. No need to take them into land especially on rocks

Hook on the spinner is a treble Hook, but since we cannot see the actual hooks we hope that two of the hooks were shipped off.....we hope

Ha ha ha! Nice catch. I fished this river several times, not big ones like you found. But I'll still stick with my Adams fly. :-)

Those fish are dead, you can tell by their eyes.
That is NOT ok, the Cedar is catch and release only. The river was reopened by negotiation and under agreement that it would be strictly catch and release.

I'm going to assume the best that you didn't know any better but please check the regulations. If I see you on the Cedar catching and killing fish I will call the game department and take a picture of you and your car.

Please don't mess up that access for everyone else.
