My daughter and I hit Mayfield for a couple days. She has had been wanting to try musky fishing so I jumped at the chance. Arrived at 7am Thursday morning and about an hour into it, picked up nice 4' tiger on a Bull Dawg that had energy for days.
About 10 am my daughter was throwing a Shallow Raider and got boatside, started a figure 8 and a 30" tiger flashed in from about 15' out and blew up her lure. She did great, landed it,snapped a pic and released it to grow. It was pretty cool seeing how excited she was to finally catch one, it reminded me of my first one 20+ years ago.
Ended up boating 6 total in 1-1/2 days, countless follows and one premature release due to equipment failure. Mostly shallow crankbaits but bucktails and plastics were paying off as well.

Those are some really healthy tigers. Love how thick they are.

Thanks buc, considering how expensive musky fishing is, I'm not sure I did her any favors lol

I've never personally seen a smallie in that lake. I've seen pics so I know they're in there but few and far between.
