I met up with a friend who hadn't fished in years. Up at the crack'o'dawn (normally I'm an evening fisher... Noon at best).
Weather was nice & mild.
Tried worm & bobber (my go-to) but no action. Tried power bait... Nothing. Too weedy of the boat launch side dock for lures.
Turns out, my buddy caught a couple fish! A red eared sunfish & perch. He was excited & kept them. It made me remember how every fish caught was magical when I started.
I normally fish alone but it was nice to meet with a friend. I prefer rowing out in a raft but was grateful the dock wasn't crowded.
Another fellow joined us & then my friend had to go. It was hreat conversation for a couple more hours.
The new fellow caught one right away off chartreuse & pink power eggs but that was it.
Seeing this picture of my buddy makes me smile every time I see it.
