Overcast morning. Surprised by how breezy it was on the water. Started off with swimbait, football, and a heavier dropshot.

Lots of nibbles on all 3 offerings. Only hooked up with the dropshot though. Found bass in 15-20' of water. I tried a few summer holes that are 40-45' but not even a nibble there. I lost 2 that felt pretty big on the dropshot but popped off halfway to the boat. Hard to tell for sure due to the wind.

First hooked up was on a dink, but I could see a larger fish chasing it even though the water was so ripply. Kept fishing the area to see if i could get that bigger one but only caught a couple of dinks.

I hooked into what i thought was a small SMB at first but when it got to the surface and turned sideways, i realize it was a HUGE crappie. I'm talking about dinner plate size. Biggest I've ever seen. I swing it towards the boat and it plops right off onto the gunnel and back into the water. The fish was stunned a bit bc it just sat there for a second or 2. I grabbed the net to scoop it but missed. Tried again but now it's too deep to reach and see it swimming away.

Landed about a dozen SMB. I only weighed 1 and iit came in at 2.11#. Caught 4 about that size. The rest smaller but still fun.
