We got to Bill's Boathouse around 9:30 and between the two of us caught 8 by 11:00 am. I caught my limit. Some of them were nice and fat! The longest was 13" the shortest was around 10". We were using a Carolina rig with a 7 ft leader and a small corky before a #6 hook. For bait we used 3 yellow power eggs with the top one pushed all the way up onto the knot so the barb plus a little hook was still exposed. They seem to be travelling in schools because the gf and I woild often get hits at the same time followed by a prolonged period of inactivity. I tried a similar rig with regular dough bait the day before, but never got a hit. Sat there for hours with no luck. Then this guy walked in and started yanking em in in every 10 minutes. I asked him what he was using and he showed me the rig I just described. Took a trip to Bass Pro so I could copy his rig and came back today. Seems to be the secret to catching them here. I was casting straight out towards the island from the dock. Happy fishing!
