Made a "quick" 6 hour drive Friday night from Moscow, Idaho to Port Orchard, Washington. Our plan was to launch the boat in Port Orchard, swing up towards Shilshole Bay, look for a pack of boats, and spend the morning fishing. We were on the water by 7:30am Saturday morning and in our target area about an hour later.

Initially, we were trolling two 5" OG2s without a flasher. The biggest challenge of the morning was the eel grass. Every time we pulled up our gear to check, both the downrigger balls and the lures were covered with vegetation. About an hour later, removed one of the 5" OG2s and attached a 2.8" OG2 in fluoro-white with black-scales. Above this lure, we tied in a green/chrome Big Al's Fish Flash. This is the lure that took our one fish of the day. (A friend's son had come along for his first salmon fishing trip; so, we let him play the fish.)

We were only able to fish the morning. Raced back to Port Orchard. Pulled the boat out a little after noon and then made the drive back across the mountains. (With the exception of the eel grass, it was a great time on the water!)
