Headed upriver from Snohomish around 5 with my 7 year old. Wasn’t very hopeful that we’d catch one since it’s early. Heard of a few people catching but not a lot of action. Saw a couple splashes. After a couple hours decided to turn back for the boat launch.

Saw a splash. Dropped anchor. Fished for 15 minutes. No luck. Decided to go troll up a bit and then back to the boat launch. I was calling my wife to let her know we were on our way back when I saw the rod shaking like crazy. (Always happens when you’re not ready). Grab the rod and start reeling. Fish hits the surface and I know it’s game on.

Puts up a good fight. Missed netting it the first time but get it on the second. A nice 8.5 pound 28” jack.

First silver caught in WA. Good way to start the season!
